Per la quarta volta, IndieWire ha chiesto a trentacinque registi la loro top 10 del 2019.
Come riportano nell’articolo, si sono stupiti di quanto le rassegne dei registi siano internazionali e aperte. Sicuramente non si tratta di top 10 noiose e già lette in altri siti di cinema (noi abbiamo fatto la top 20 del decennio) perché hanno incluso anche film che la critica non ha considerato o che non hanno ottenuto riconoscimenti.
I registi a cui è stato chiesto sono: Khalik Allah, Ana Lily Amirpour, Olivier Assayas, Bi Gan, Bong Joon Ho, Sofia Coppola, Kelly Remon Craig, Josephine Decker, Guillermo del Toro, Yance Ford, Augustine Frizzell, Luca Guadagnino.
Ci sono anche Ciro Guerra, Bill Hader, Catherine Hardwicke, Chad Hartigan, Don Hertzfeldt, Alejandro Landes, David Lowery, Adam McJay, Oren Moverman, Alex Ross Perry, James Ponsoldt, Julia Reichert e Steven Bognar.
E per finire Angela Robinson, Matt Ross, Paul Shrader, Daniel Scheinert, Daniel Schmidt, chad Stahelski, Whit Stillman, Peter Strickland, Ondi Timoner, Lulu Wang, Adam Wingard.
Eccole le top 10 del 2019 dei registi
Dal momento che IndieWire ha lasciato totale libertà ai registi sulla modalità di esprimere la loro opinione, non sempre quello che troverete qui sotto sarà la canonica top 10 del 2019. Ci saranno anche sono semplici commenti o una lista di qualche film, senza un ordine preciso.

La regista ha semplicemente riportato la sua opinione su due film che l’hanno particolarmente colpita. Sostiene che Adam Sandler in Uncut Gems ci abbia regalato una grande interpretazione e si è stupita della trasformazione di Charlize Theron nel film Bombshell.
