I People’s Choice Awards 2018, in una veste rinnovata, sanciscono il trionfo di Shadowhunters, il teen-drama Riverdale e Orange is the New Black.
I People’s Choice Awards sono un Premio a suffragio popolare che viene assegnato ogni anno ai migliori personaggi della stagione cinematografica, musicale ma soprattutto televisiva, distinte in differenti categorie.
Per l’edizione 2018, i premi acquisiti dalla E! Entertainment Television, sono stati proposti in una veste rinnovata, con importanti variazione nelle categorie e nelle modalità di attribuzione dei premi.
La Grande favorita, con ben quattro riconoscimenti è stata la serie sovrannaturale, Shadowhunters nata nel 2016 e prossima alla chiusura. La serie è tratta dalla saga letteraria The Mortal Instruments di Cassandra Clarea, nota in Italia con il titolo di Shadowhunters.
Il teen-drama CBS Riverdale ottiene il Premio come miglior serie drammatica, mentre l’ormai consolidata realtà carceraria di Orange is the new black conquista il riconoscimento di Miglior serie comedy mentre, proprio come Shadowshunter chiude i battenti.
