BAFTA 2021 – tutte le nomination: Nomadland in vetta con 8 candidature

Sono uscite oggi le nomination dei BAFTA 2021, ossia i premi assegnati dalla British Academy of Film and Television Arts composta dai suoi 6700 membri. Tra le nomination, Nomadland, già vincitore del Leone d’Oro a Venezia, si aggiudica il maggior numero di candidature.

Quest’anno la massima onorificenza della cinematografia inglese verrà affidata ad una cerimonia streaming che si terrà tra il 10 e l’11 aprile in diretta dalla Royal Albert Hall. Nella prima serata dei BAFTA 2021 verranno consegnati i premi più tecnici, mentre nella seconda quelli principali più prestigiosi.

La sorpresa di questa edizione è – finalmente – la nomination di ben quattro registe donne come Miglior Regia, e tre di queste candidature sono registi stranieri. La cinquina è infatti formata da: Chloé Zhao, Lee Isaac Chung, Shannon Murphy, Jasmila Žbanić, Thomas Vinterberg e Sarah Gavron.

Per le nomination, Nomadland ne ottiene ben 8, tra cui quelle importantissime di Miglior Film, Miglior Regia e Migliore Attrice. Segue il film adolescenziale Rocks, già vincitore dei British Independent Film Awards, che ottiene 7 candidature. 6 nomination poi per The Father, Minari, Mank e Promising Young Woman, mentre The Dig e The Mauritanian ne hanno ottenute 5.
